Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited 5 year pharmacy program.
• Currently licensed (or eligible) in Massachusetts.
• Ability to practice hospital pharmacy at current standards.
• Able to operate required equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, dispenses and controls medications and other pharmaceuticals.
• Maintains expertise through understanding of product advances and developments.
• Assigns and monitors tasks of supportive personnel.
• Reviews medication orders for completeness and appropriateness.
• Compounds pharmaceuticals including intravenous admixtures, TPN and other products.
• Insures proper labeling of medications and supplies.
• Provides drug information to medical staff and others as required by law and policy.
• Issues and controls medications supplied to patient care units and other areas.
• Performs other duties as directed.
