Job summary

Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA is seeking a per diem Pharmacist to perform professional pharmacy services, review orders, counsel patients, and supervise staff. The role includes immunizations, regulatory compliance, and patient-focused care.

The position offers rotating day schedules, occasional weekends/holidays, with shifts from early morning to late afternoon. Experience and Massachusetts licensure are preferred, with on-call duties as required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Pharmacy.
• (Pharmacist) - Currently licensed as a Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• (BLS) - Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Certification in Immunization.
• Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
• (Preferred) - One (1) year of related experience (consideration is given to new graduates)
• (Preferred) - Medication Therapy Management Certification

Responsibilities

• Reviews and interprets orders for patients and inputs prescriptions with checks for interactions and contraindications.
• Resolves medication issues and ensures adequate stock and proper documentation.
• Provides immunizations at the pharmacy and flu clinics.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Counsels patients to facilitate appropriate drug therapy and education.
• Supervises assigned personnel and maintains pharmacy computer system proficiency.
• Handles 340B regulations and third-party billing awareness.
• Performs on-call duties as required.
