Job summary

Insight Institute of Neuroscience & Neurosurgery (IINN) in Flint, MI seeks a dedicated Pharmacist to join our team. The role involves sterile compounding, medication reconciliation, dispensing, and collaboration with physicians, surgeons, and nurses to ensure patient safety and high-quality drug therapy.

The position requires Michigan licensure, ASHP PGY1 or equivalent hospital experience, and immunization certification.

Qualifications

  • Holds a degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy.
  • Current unrestricted pharmacist license in Michigan.
  • Completion of ASHP PGY1 residency, or two years hospital experience including ICU/OR.
  • Current BLS licensure or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment.
  • APHA Immunization certification or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated English communication for safe and effective patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Pharmacist provides sterile compounding and medication preparation under licensed scope.
  • Reviews orders, maintains patient profiles, evaluates drug interactions for effective dosing.
  • Supervises pharmacy technicians in sterile compounding and medication preparation.
  • Provides pharmacokinetics, pain management, antimicrobial and other therapy consults as requested.
  • Performs medication reconciliation on admission, during care changes, and at discharge.
  • Provides immunizations to employees and patients as required.
  • Supports codes and emergency responses as needed.
  • Dispenses outpatient prescriptions to discharge and clinic patients.
  • Adheres to Michigan Board of Pharmacy, DEA, USP, CMS and Joint Commission guidelines.
