Job summary

Good Shepherd Health Care System in Hermiston, OR is seeking a hospital pharmacist to ensure effective daily operations of inpatient pharmacy services, including parenteral and enteral orders, patient therapy monitoring, and drug information. The role may involve assuming Pharmacist in Charge or Pharmacy Manager duties in their absence.

Qualifications include a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy, Oregon licensure, BLS with ACLS within a year, and 2 years’ hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
• Required: Current Pharmacist’s license issued by the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy.
• Required: Basic Life Support certification with expectation of Advanced Cardiac Life Support within first year of hire.
• Preferred: Two years’ hospital experience or residency.

Responsibilities

• Work varying shifts and on-call duties as necessary.
• Work independently with minimal direct supervision.
• Collaborate with health-system and pharmacy staff.
• Handle frequent interruptions and adapt to workload changes.
• Set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to emergencies.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Improve processes related to patient safety.
• Respect patient confidentiality and ensure pharmaceutical care for all populations.
• Interpret and apply standards of practice and regulatory policies.
• Support hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
