Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a pharmacist to compound and dispense prescribed drugs in a hospital setting, consulting on drug interactions and patient history. You will answer patient questions about medications and ensure pharmacy data is accurately recorded in compliance with regulations.

Position is PRN, hourly, with 12 scheduled weekly hours. Licensure as a pharmacist in SC and BLS certification are required; a Doctor of Pharmacy or PharmD with residency is preferred.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy or a Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy with licensure.
• Completion of a pharmacy residency preferred.
• Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
• Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) required.

Responsibilities

• Compounds and dispenses prescribed drugs per physician’s instructions.
• Consults with medical staff about drug interactions and patient history.
• Responds to patient questions about medications and dosing instructions.
• Records and maintains required pharmacy data per regulatory procedures.
