Job summary

GHR Travel Nursing is seeking a Hospital Pharmacist for an inpatient pharmacy assignment in Fredericksburg, Virginia. You will support safe, effective medication therapy in a busy acute care setting, working 8-hour shifts, 13 weeks, Monday through Friday with potential weekend coverage.

The role requires at least one year of acute care experience, Virginia license, PharmD or RPh preferred, and Epic experience to support clinical dosing, med reconciliation, and TDM.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of pharmacist experience required in acute care within the last 3 years.
• Inpatient or acute care hospital pharmacy experience is required.
• Epic experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify medication orders for safety and clinical appropriateness.
• Provide complex medication reconciliation and therapeutic recommendations.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses on medication changes.
• Support an autonomous pharmacist-as-practitioner model in inpatient settings.
• Perform clinical dosing support for antibiotics and anticoagulation.

Job Details

• Setting: Inpatient / Acute Care Hospital Pharmacy


• Location: Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401


• Start Date: 09/29/2026


• Duration: 13-week travel pharmacist assignment


• Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts


• Shift Schedule: Monday through Friday, with coverage between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM; weekend and holiday rotation may apply


• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,220 - $2,380


• Orientation: 8 hours


• Charting System: Epic required


• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics


• Work Environment: Busy acute care department with a strong focus on clinical pharmacy services

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of pharmacist experience required, with strong acute care experience within the last 3 years


• Active Virginia pharmacist license required


• PharmD or RPh preferred


• Epic experience required


• Inpatient pharmacy or acute care hospital pharmacy experience required


• Experience with IV therapy and pharmacotherapy management preferred


• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital setting


• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills


• Experience with Pyxis, Carousel, clinical dosing, anticoagulation, renal dosing, and therapeutic drug monitoring is highly valued

Responsibilities

• Review and verify medication orders for safety, accuracy, and clinical appropriateness


• Provide complex medication reconciliation and therapeutic recommendations


• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other providers on medication changes and evidence-based therapy decisions


• Support an autonomous pharmacist-as-practitioner model in the inpatient setting


• Perform clinical dosing support for antibiotics, anticoagulation, renal function, pediatrics, and other specialized therapies


• Prepare and manage IV medications using safe sterile technique and best practices


• Monitor high-alert medications and assist with therapeutic drug monitoring


• Work closely with the care team to help optimize outcomes for hospitalized patients
