Job summary

Frederick Health is seeking a Catering Associate to provide personalized meal service to hospitalized patients, including those NPO or on tube feedings. You will assist with bedside selections, dietary needs, and special requests using an electronic system while delivering and clearing meals across units.

The role requires teamwork with nursing and dietitians, adherence to safety standards, and accurate record-keeping. A 12-hour shift schedule and a comprehensive benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of food service experience, preferably in acute care.
• Ability to learn basic diet knowledge and modify patient menus accordingly.
• Proficiency with computer systems used for patient meal orders and records.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bedside meal selections and dietary needs for patients.
• Serve meals, stock nourishment room, assemble trays and deliver to units.
• Verify patient identity and ensure correct meal according to diet prescriptions.
• Record selections using computer-based menu system and paper tickets as needed.
• Follow HACCP guidelines and department safety procedures.
