The HB OP Coder reviews, analyzes, and assigns codes from medical record documentation to include, but not limited to, medical diagnostic and procedural information for outpatient medical and surgical encounters on the facility claim.
Qualifications
Associate degree and a minimum of 2 years of hospital outpatient coding experience. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or coding credential of a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required.
