Job summary

UC Irvine Health seeks a Nurse Practitioner II to provide comprehensive care to patients in ambulatory or inpatient settings within the Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine & Palliative Medicine. The NP will coordinate multidisciplinary care, education, monitoring, and communication with patients and referring physicians.

The successful candidate must be credentialed and privileged via Medical Staff prior to the first working day, hold an active California RN license and NP board

Qualifications

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships across the program.
• Communicate medical information clearly to diverse audiences, in person or by telephone.
• Prepare clear medical reports, lab data, and progress notes; maintain an appropriate work pace.
• Adhere to privacy, confidentiality, and security policies related to PHI or other sensitive information.
• Be credentialed and privileged via Medical Staff prior to the first working day.
• Hold an active California RN license and NP license as applicable.

Position: Nurse Practitioner II (day and sine–wing shift 90%) Department: Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine & Palliative Medicine Supervisor: Dr. Anuj Ohri, MD The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive care to patients in ambulatory or inpatient settings and coordinate multidisciplinary care, education, monitoring, and communication with patients and referring physicians.

This Position May Perform

• Functions are determined by the scope of practice, which includes management of chronic, stable medical conditions; routine, acute or critical care; and approved standardized procedures.
• NP privileges are unique to each individual and may not include all possible privileges.
• NP may provide patient care across age groups based on education and at all Health licensed settings and affiliates.
• NP is responsible for quality standards for the specified patient population and demonstrates self‑direction and accountability both to quality of care and to the development of the role within all Health locations.
• Advanced Practice Practitioners are required to be credentialed and privileged via Medical Staff prior to the first working day.
• NP is accountable to, evaluated by and receives feedback from the supervising physician, physician designee(s), or the Administrative Manager.

• Possess the skills, knowledge, and ability essential to successful performance of assigned duties; be trained in specialized medical equipment and procedures.
• Adhere to privacy, confidentiality, and security policies related to PHI or other sensitive information.
• Hold a current, active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse license.
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Possess a current, active, unrestricted furnishing license and DEA registration.
• Be NP National Board Certified (Adult Gerontology Acute Care AGACNP‑BC or ACNPC‑AG).
• Have successfully completed an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.

Preferred

• Multilingual proficiency.

Special Conditions

• Obtain UCIMC Allied Health Professional privileges prior to hire.
• Maintain an active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
