Job summary

The Materials Handling Tech I at Unity Hospital, part of Rochester Regional Health, organizes, tracks and delivers hospital supplies to ensure every room and floor is stocked for patient care at all times. This full-time role covers days and evenings, including every other weekend, within Materials Management.

Key duties include stocking per exchange carts, reporting inventory discrepancies, and assisting with receipt verification.

Qualifications

• Complete Materials Management Skills Checklist I required.
• Participated in Hazardous Materials Safety Training and Safety Lifting Program.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communications skills.
• Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office software familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Supply & Distribution. Ensure all necessary forms are completed; ensure all materials are stocked to the appropriate level per exchange cart; report all inventory discrepancies to Buyer/Planner, Supervisors and/or Materials Manager; inventory and maintain medical equipment supply levels.
• Management of Receivables. Ensure materials are kept in their proper location; review package slips and verify incoming materials.
• Messenger Services. Fill miscellaneous orders from departments; transport materials to designated areas with documentation; ensure all incoming materials are signed for by the department.
