Job summary

Port Cities Animal Hospital in Manitowoc, WI is seeking an experienced Hospital Manager to join our leadership team. You will partner with the Chief of Staff to drive productivity, patient care quality, and growth while fostering teamwork and accountability.

Lead client service and technical teams, manage budgets and inventories, and develop staff through coaching and training. You will recruit, onboard, and retain top talent to sustain a positive, collaborative hospital culture.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of veterinary technical experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership or management experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational oversight of the hospital and daily workflow.
  • Lead and develop technician and client service teams.
  • Manage financial performance, budgets, payroll, inventory, and KPIs.
  • Support business development and growth initiatives.
  • Monitor client satisfaction and enhance client loyalty.
  • Coach team members to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Collaborate with doctors and department leaders on patient care and ops.

Who we are

Port Cities Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our leadership team as a Hospital Manager. The successful candidate will share our commitment to delivering exceptional client service, outstanding veterinary care, and a positive work environment for our team.

In partnership with the Chief of Staff, the Hospital Manager plays a key role in driving the productivity, profitability, and growth of the hospital while fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, leadership development, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing operational oversight of the hospital and daily workflow
  • Leading and developing our technician and client service teams
  • Managing financial performance, budgets, payroll, inventory, and key performance indicators
  • Supporting business development and hospital growth initiatives
  • Monitoring client satisfaction and implementing strategies to strengthen client loyalty
  • Training and coaching team members to deliver exceptional client service
  • Collaborating with doctors and department leaders to support quality patient care and operational excellence
  • Recruiting, onboarding, developing, and retaining top talent
  • Facility maintenance
Qualifications

We are seeking a leader who combines strong business acumen with hands-on veterinary technical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credentials preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of veterinary technical experience, including:
    • Supporting veterinarians during patient examinations
    • Performing and overseeing laboratory services
    • Assisting with vaccinations and preventive care
    • Taking and reviewing radiographs (X-rays)
    • Supporting surgical procedures
    • Assisting with dentistry and dental radiography
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership or management experience
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and execute efficiently
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience managing revenue, payroll, inventory, and operational budgets
  • Ability to build and maintain a positive, collaborative team culture
