Job summary

SummitRidge Hospital in Lawrenceville, GA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Plant Operations team on a PRN basis. You will paint, finish, and maintain walls, ceilings, and various surfaces across hospital facilities and grounds, ensuring a clean, functional, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include preparing surfaces for painting, applying finishes, selecting materials per specs, keeping work areas safe, storing paints and tools

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; two years of related technical/trade school preferred.
• Experience: operating hand/power tools with proper safety.
• Life Safety Code and OSHA knowledge preferred; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, sanding, patching, and priming.
• Apply paint, varnish, stains, and finishes to walls, doors, ceilings, and furniture.
• Select materials and colors according to job specifications.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas during and after projects.
• Store paints, solvents, and tools safely.
• Perform minor drywall, ceiling tile, door adjustments, and light plumbing/electrical tasks.
• Respond to work orders and maintenance requests promptly.
• Assist in setup and teardown for facility events or room relocations.
• Work with maintenance staff and hospital departments.
• Respond to alarms in line with safety policies.
