Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to ensure safe, clean, and functional patient rooms and facilities. You will engage with vendors on construction projects, manage PM schedules, and keep regulatory and safety standards in focus while maintaining equipment and the patient environment.

The role requires 3–5 years of maintenance experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and proficient computer skills.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of supplies, equipment, ordering process.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude.
• 3 to 5 years Maintenance experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison for new construction projects, coordinates with vendors and assists with designs.
• Maintains PM schedule, logs, work orders, and turnover documents.
• Maintains patient environment and equipment; demonstrates ability to operate and repair equipment.
• Performs interior maintenance: bulbs, ballasts, switches, outlets, plumbing, painting and furniture movement.
• Follows up on inspections and ensures timely completion of required work.
• Assists during emergencies and responds to safety concerns.
• Maintains inventory and requisitions parts and equipment.
• Maintains safety standards and regulatory documentation.
• Responds to calls/messages and adheres to Joint Commission logs.
