Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Westwood, NJ is seeking a variable shift, part-time Maintenance Mechanic to help keep hospital facilities and equipment in good working order. You will perform drywall, painting, wiring, plumbing, carpentry, and other semi-skilled tasks on site, with responsibilities including on-location repairs, equipment adjustments, and snow removal during/after hours.

A high school diploma or GED and several years of maintenance and construction experience are preferred; strong

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 years maintenance experience with various equipment and physical plant.
• 2 years construction experience in basic carpentry and drywall.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
• Proven maintenance experience.
• Able to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.

Responsibilities

• Repair, replace, or improve Hospital Facilities or equipment.
• Perform semi-skilled tasks: drywall, painting, doors, plumbing/electrical, carpentry.
• Adjust and make repairs on location to equipment and the physical plant.
• Construct or reconstruct equipment and the physical plant.
• Perform a variety of small construction tasks as directed.
• Install new equipment as directed.
• Responsible for snow removal during and after hours.
• Repair machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
• Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair.
• Perform other duties of the department, as assigned.

• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities

• The General Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for repairing, replacing, or otherwise improving items of the Hospital Facilities or equipment. Perform semi-skilled work in several crafts.
• Perform semi-skilled tasks. (Examples) Repairing drywall, painting, repairing doors or other building fixtures, plumbing and electrical, and basic carpentry skills are required.
• Adjust and make repairs, “on location” to equipment and physical plant.
• Construct or reconstruct equipment and the physical plant.
• Perform a variety of small construction tasks as directed.
• Install such new equipment as directed.
• Responsible for snow removal during and after hours.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
