PVH Potomac Valley Hospital in Oakland, MD is seeking a skilled maintenance carpenter to join our Facilities Engineering team. You will perform general carpentry, drywall, and finishing work across the hospital, ensuring safe, functional spaces for staff and patients.

The role requires at least a high school diploma, 2 years of technical training, or 10 years of relevant construction experience; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a current valid driver's license.
• High school education or equivalent.
• Two years of technical school training in trades, or 10 years of commercial/residential construction experience preferred.
• Skilled in carpentry and general construction, with ability to read blueprints and build plans.
• Familiar with building codes, preventive maintenance, and basic mechanical repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform general carpentry work: sheetrock, framing, ceilings, drywall, flooring, cabinetry, and door hardware.
• Supervise maintenance workers by coordinating workflow, training, and advising.
• Provide preventive and corrective repairs throughout the hospital.
• Access to restricted medication rooms and report unsecured medications to a licensed professional.
