Job summary

Detroit Medical Center Shared Services in Detroit is seeking a dedicated Linen Attendant to support patient care by efficiently collecting soiled linen, transporting carts, and restocking clean linen. This is a full-time, on-site role with rotating shifts.

Under general supervision, you will maintain cleanliness, work with nursing staff to resolve routine issues, and help meet production and quality standards while contributing to a compassionate healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, collects soiled linen from user area soiled linen utility rooms and transports soiled linen carts to primary hold area.
• Transports clean linen to user areas on a route scheduled basis.
• Stocks and restocks clean linen as required, assists truck driver with the loading of soiled linen carts and unloading of clean linen carts.
• Interacts with user area nursing staff to resolve routine related problems.
• Keeps department Leader or Supervisor advised of any reported linen problems.
• Maintains neatness and cleanliness of clean and soiled user area utility rooms.
• Performs other duties as assigned by department Supervisor.
• Responsible for the proper performance of assigned duties under general supervision, including the attainment and maintenance of production and quality standards.
