Job summary

Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is seeking a Cook to prepare and cook a variety of foods according to menus and patient dietary needs. You will supervise dining-room support and ensure food safety and sanitation standards are followed in a fast-paced hospital kitchen.

The role requires two years of healthcare cooking experience, Nevada food handling certification, and a commitment to patient-focused meal service with opportunities to train new staff and manage inventory.

Qualifications

• Two years’ cooking experience in a Healthcare environment required.
• Prior experience in hospital food service preferred.
• Valid Nevada Food Handler Certification.
• Valid Serve Safe Certification preferred.
• CPI obtained within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks food according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions, and numbers of portions to be served.
• Cooks foods to ensure proper cooking temperatures for foods.
• Directs activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.
• Monitors activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.
• Takes inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Assists in training new employees.
