Job summary

Horizon Health Services in New York seeks a Residential Facility Cook to prepare meals for patients, maintain appearance and proper portioning, and ensure a clean, safe kitchen. You will follow a four-week cycle menu and assist with seasonal modifications in a fast-paced setting across two sites.

The role is full-time with 6 AM–6 PM shifts; weekend/holiday availability is required, with time-and-a-half on holidays. Pay ranges from $18.82 to $20.29 per hour, with growth and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with two or more years of cooking experience in hospital or clinical setting, long-term care setting, restaurant setting or similar facility.
• Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for patients and prep items for later service.
• Attend to appearance, quality, and proper portioning of all menu items.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, keeping equipment in clean and proper working order.
• Adhere to FDA, USDA, State, and County safe food handling procedures.
• Maintain proper documentation of temperatures, meal counts, and production sheets.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and exemplary customer service when interacting with patients.
• Clearly communicate with coworkers and patients.
• Follow a four-week cycle menu and assist in seasonal modifications.

Education
