Job summary

Lifepoint Health, Inc. is seeking a Cook for our hospital kitchen. You will prepare nutritious meals for patients, employees, visitors, and staff, ensuring accuracy to menus and dietary requirements.

You will follow HACCP guidelines, maintain cleanliness, and collaborate with teams to support efficient service. The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and serves as a key member of the Food & Nutrition Services team with opportunities to train others and support department

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years of food-service experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, HACCP, sanitation and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, season, and cook nutritious meals for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Review menus and recipes to determine quantities and preparation needs.
• Coordinate food preparation and cooking times to meet service schedules.
• Follow recipes, portion-control, and quality guidelines to minimize waste and control costs.
• Prepare meals in accordance with dietary requirements and age-specific needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment and work areas.
• Assist with inventory management, supply ordering, and proper storage.
• Provide direction and training to new team members and collaborate with hospital departments.
