Job summary

University Health’s UH Lakewood Medical Center is seeking a Cook to prepare patient and staff meals according to standardized recipes. The role runs 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week, on-site at UH Lakewood Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.

The position requires following recipes, maintaining food safety, and working under direct supervision with a friendly, service-oriented approach. Minimum requirements include a High School diploma or GED, good interpersonal and English

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Good interpersonal skills to meet and serve the public.
• Ability to read and speak English; strong communication skills.
• Maintain a Food Handler's Card.
• Follow recipes, use scales, and operate large kitchen equipment.
• Ability to bend, twist, stoop, push and lift heavy food containers.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes to prepare food for patients, residents, employees, cafeteria patrons and medical staff.
• Work under direct supervision while preparing and portioning meals.
• Ensure food safety and quality during service.
