Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking a proactive HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair refrigeration and climate control equipment across hospital and off-site sites in central Ohio. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex systems, and ensure compliance with relevant codes and guidelines.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, Universal Refrigeration Certification, and at least three years of HVAC experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school graduate or equivalent; vocational/technical training preferred.
• Certification: Universal Refrigeration Certification.
• Three years of experience in installation and repair of HVAC equipment.
• Knowledge of chemical water treatment, testing and analysis.
• Knowledge of electrical controls and electric theory related to HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of temperature controls systems and indoor air quality standards.
• Blueprint reading and knowledge of state and local codes.
• Must maintain heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems at on- and off-site locations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and determine repair/maintenance needs to prevent breakdowns.
• Install, repair, troubleshoot HVAC equipment and replace parts as needed.
• Read and update blueprints reflecting as-built conditions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems at multiple sites.
• Operate HVAC systems to meet specified temperature and humidity.
• Inspect hospital equipment like chillers and air handlers.
• Test and treat boiler and cooling tower water in closed loop systems.
• Assist in snow removal and related vehicle operations.
