Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio, seeks an HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across hospital and outreach sites. The role requires a high school diploma with HVAC trade training and universal refrigeration certification, plus related experience.

You’ll work daytime shifts with four 10-hour days and participate in on-site snow removal duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical HVAC training preferred.
• Universal Refrigeration Certification.
• Three years of experience in installation and repair of HVAC equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and determines repair and maintenance work to prevent breakdowns and major overhauls on HVAC systems at on and off-site locations.
• Installs, maintains, repairs, troubleshoots HVAC equipment and replaces parts as necessary; tests for proper operation.
• Reads blueprints and installs equipment per specifications; updates blueprints to reflect as-built conditions.
• Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC systems at on and off-site locations.
• Operates and adjusts HVAC systems to meet specified temperatures and humidity levels.
• Inspects and maintains hospital equipment such as chillers, cooling towers, and air handlers.
• Performs tests and treats boiler water in closed loop systems and cooling tower water.
• Snow removal duties including operation of 4-wheel drive vehicles, plows, salt spreaders, tractors.
