Job summary

UPMC is seeking a dedicated housekeeper in Washington County to maintain clean and safe patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas. You will work with a team to ensure a welcoming environment for patients and staff, following infection control procedures.

The role requires flexibility for rotating shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, including weekends and holidays, with potential reassignment to other areas as needed.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes patients' rooms and bathrooms daily.
• Disposes of trash and replenishes supplies according to proper procedures.
• Moves furniture and other fixtures to dust and mop floor, resets furniture to present an attractive environment for patients and visitors.
• Washes walls behind sinks and commodes.
• Cleans and disinfects isolation rooms adhering to proper policy and procedures.
• Cleans and disinfects ancillary areas. (Utility and linen rooms, nurse's stations, lounges, etc.).
• Cleans and disinfects water fountains, sinks in hallways, telephones, and chair rails.
• Vacuums carpets and damp dusts furniture weekly in office areas.
• Empties trash and uses hand sweeper on carpets daily.
• Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.
