Job summary

STJ St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon, WV, is seeking a Housekeeping Aide to perform environmental services and keep patient rooms, exam rooms, and public areas clean and sanitary. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to follow established cleaning procedures, operate floor equipment, and report issues to supervision.

40 hours per week, non-exempt. This full-time position offers routine shifts; training includes safety, sanitation, and accreditation

Qualifications

• Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational needs.
• Possesses the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with guests.
• Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of assigned areas, necessary supplies and equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow written work assignments.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and ensures areas are cleaned and in good repair; report problems to supervisor.
• Cleans patient rooms, exam rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, OR rooms, offices and equipment.
• Removes trash from all assigned areas.
• Replenishes paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations.
• Makes beds following established cleaning procedures.
• Maintains equipment in clean, working condition; reports problems.
• Moves equipment, furniture, and other items as assigned.
• Follows all safety and sanitation regulations.
