Qualifications

• Maintain confidentiality in matters relating to patients, visitors and staff.
• Communicate effectively with staff and patients; follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Disinfect patient treatment, invasive care areas, staff and visitor areas to maximize infection prevention and safety.
• Collect, store, and dispose of general medical, biohazard, pharmaceutical, chemotherapy, sharps, and soiled linen items according to policy.
• Clean remodeled or new areas and prepare them for occupancy.
• Perform project work such as curtain changes, cleaning, floor refinishing, carpet cleaning, and wall washing.
• Prepare patient rooms and support areas for new patients including disinfection, bed making, and supplies replenishment.
• Interact with patients and visitors to provide directions and hospital information.
