Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA, is seeking a part-time Environmental Services Associate to keep patient areas clean and safe. You will help maintain a consistent floor care program and prepare rooms for new patients, supporting infection prevention and overall hospital appearance.

This role requires a high school diploma (preferred) and the ability to follow policies, communicate with staff and visitors, and use basic computer tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong attention to infection prevention and safety policies.
• Ability to communicate directions and hospital information.
• Basic computer skills (email, e-learning)

Responsibilities

• Disinfect patient treatment and care areas to maximize infection prevention and safety.
• Handle collection, storage, and disposal of medical and related waste per policy.
• Clean remodeled or new areas and ensure occupancy readiness.
• Perform project work like curtain changes, cleanup, floor refinishing, carpet cleaning.
• Prepare patient rooms for new patients with disinfection and supplies replenishment.
• Interact with patients and visitors to provide directions and hospital information.
