Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Permian Basin in Texas is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean and safe hospital environment for adults and seniors receiving psychiatric care. You will clean patient rooms, common areas, and clinical spaces daily, follow strict infection control procedures, and perform terminal cleans after discharges.

Responsibilities include handling waste, linen and housekeeping supplies, and supporting overall patient well-being through a sanitary facility.

Qualifications

• Cleans and sanitizes all areas per policy.
• Disinfects patient rooms and baths daily.
• Performs terminal cleaning after transfers or discharges.
• Cleans staff areas, laundry, restrooms, dining rooms daily.
• Follows infection control procedures and universal precautions.
• Handles waste and linen according to procedures.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes all areas of the facility in accordance with established policies.
• Cleans and disinfects patients' rooms and baths daily.
• Performs terminal cleaning after transfer or discharges 100% of the time.
• Cleans, empties, dusts, sanitizes, nursing stations, non-patient care areas, laundry room, restrooms, sitting rooms and dining rooms daily.
• Dusts and mops all hard floors; buffs, strips, waxes as needed for hard floors; shampoos carpets when needed; cleans drapes.
• Follows infection control procedures for isolation cleaning 100% of the time; uses universal precautions 100% of the time.
• Collects and distributes clean linen and contains soiled linen in proper containers; Follows procedures for disposal of biohazard waste and other waste; follows directions for use of cleaning chemicals.
• Cleans, maintains and monitors equipment in good condition at all times; Monitors, orders and uses linen in a cost-effective manner.
• Reports broken, defective patient care/room equipment; completes work request for repairs.
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
