Job summary

UMass Memorial Medical Center is seeking an Environmental Services worker to clean offices and department areas, including trash removal, high dusting, damp wiping, and bathroom cleaning. The role requires attention to safety, efficiency, and teamwork across shifts.

Under supervision, you will perform major cleaning tasks, support project work, and maintain a professional image while meeting scheduled duties and standards of respect in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Required: Previous environmental services experience with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Preferred: High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned rooms and areas to ensure a clean, safe and attractive environment.
• Cleans and burnishes floors to maintain an attractive appearance.
• Assists with project work as assigned.
• Completes assigned schedule of duties making efficient use of work time.
• Projects a positive service attitude while on duty and responds promptly to requests.
• Interacts with others in a cooperative manner and works harmoniously with staff.
• Operates equipment and chemicals safely following procedures.
• Maintains professional appearance and conduct.
• Reports to start times with proper timekeeping and sign-in/out.
