• Cleans all assigned areas using the seven-step cleaning procedure per departmental policies and infection-prevention standards.
• Removes trash from assigned areas; empties and cleans waste receptacles; handles and disposes of regular, biohazardous, and infectious waste per safety requirements.
• Dries and wets mops floors using approved disinfectants; vacuums and shampoos carpets; buffs floors following procedures and safety guidelines.
• Obtains required materials and supplies from designated areas and restocks daily to ensure continuous cleaning performance.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Environmental Services–approved chemicals, including proper use, dilution, and dwell times per instructions.
• Reports equipment in need of repair or replacement to the supervisor to ensure safe operation.
• Maintains equipment, carts, and supply closets in a neat, clean, and organized condition per standards.
• Responds courteously and promptly to patient, visitor, and staff requests within Environmental Services scope; communicates needs to appropriate personnel.
• Cleans and disinfects high-touch surfaces and restrooms in assigned spaces per procedures and infection-prevention standards.
• Completes required cleaning logs, checklists, or documentation accurately; accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
