CHI St. Alexius Health Garrison is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain clean, sanitary patient rooms and common areas under supervision of the housekeeping supervisor. You will promote a healthy environment for staff, patients and visitors while adhering to infection control practices.

The role emphasizes daily cleaning, safe waste disposal, and monthly tasks to support hospital operations; prior housekeeping experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Housekeeping skills helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Daily Patient Room Cleaning: Disinfects surfaces, fixtures, and furniture; mop floors; dispose of garbage.
• Weekly Patient Room Responsibilities: Move furniture for cleaning; dust surfaces; clean garbage cans; replace supplies.
• Common Area Maintenance: Clean hallways; vacuum carpets; clean bathrooms daily.
• Infection control: follow isolation protocols; use color-coded cleaning rags; dispose of waste properly.
• Clinic Daily Routines: Clean bathrooms and treatment rooms; vacuum carpets; discard regular and red bag garbage.
• As-Needed & Monthly Tasks: Clean fans, replace sharps containers, shampoo chairs, clean AC filters, doors/trim, curtains.
