Job summary

Lexington-Post-Acute is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain clean and safe facilities for residents and staff. You will clean public areas, resident rooms, and restrooms, while adhering to safety protocols and using cleaning equipment per manufacturer instructions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Healthcare or long-term care housekeeping experience is a plus.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and understand procedures and directions.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to solve practical problems with varied variables.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain public and common areas including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
• Ensure resident rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
• Wipe down handrails to keep them free of dust and debris.
• Remove dirt, dust, and food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
• Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility.
• Follow safety protocols, including using caution signage and storing chemicals securely.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies according to manufacturer instructions.
• Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Report any resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.
• Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishment.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
• Manage time effectively and complete tasks efficiently.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet facility standards.
