Job summary

Jefferson Health Northeast is seeking a Food Service Associate to provide patient meals and food service with a rotating, per-diem schedule in Philadelphia, PA. You will stock stations, retrieve trays, and ensure sanitary and timely service in a high-demand hospital environment.

Role requires attention to recipes, dietary guidelines, and cross-training across tray lines, storeroom and kitchen areas, while upholding Jefferson’s safety standards and patient satisfaction goals.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in food service 6+ months preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson values.
• Sets up and stocks assigned station before service and for next meal.
• May retrieve patient meal trays to ensure sanitary, safe and timely service.
• Maintains floor stock and records usage.
• Handles food according to sanitary and safety guidelines.
• Ensures food prepared using recipes to provide consistent, safe meals that are cost and budget compliant.
• May prepare or serve beverages and bakery items.
• Cross-train to support tray line, storeroom and food prep areas.
• Cleans equipment and work areas to maintain a sanitary environment.
