Job summary

Baton Rouge General is seeking an Environmental Services associate to maintain a clean, sanitary hospital environment. You will clean patient rooms, offices and corridors, sanitize areas, and follow infection control procedures to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities include floor care, waste removal, supply checks, and adherence to HIPAA and safety standards. Prior housekeeping experience is preferred and a High School Diploma or GED is typical.

Qualifications

• Housekeeping experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Able to understand and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, baths, offices, halls and other areas according to established standards.
• Maintains area cleanliness to limit cross infection and follows infection control practices.
• Cleans areas by washing walls, furniture, tile, fixtures, equipment and other surfaces with cleaning solutions.
• Removes trash and waste and refills dispensers per policy.
• Notifies supervisor of low supplies and equipment malfunctions.
• Follows safety guidelines and maintains areas in safe condition.
• Demonstrates responsibility for maintaining floors by sweeping, mopping and applying finishes as required.
• Organizes work to complete tasks efficiently and on time.
• Operates cleaning equipment, understands proper sanitation and safety procedures.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
