Job summary

University of California- Davis Health seeks a Fire Inspector II to independently perform detailed inspections of buildings under the Fire Marshal’s Office and interpret Federal, State codes and UCDH policies.

You will provide education to occupants, assist with fire drills, and support Joint Commission and CMS requirements. Candidates should have strong analytical skills and experience in a regulatory environment, with 100% on-site duties.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to CAL FIRE-OSFM-CSFT Fire Inspector II or ability to independently certify within six months.
• Valid California driver's license and compliant driving record.
• Associates degree or equivalent in Fire Science, Chemistry, or related field.
• Experience in a complex fire and life safety organization with independent duties.
• Experience interpreting and enforcing codes in AHJ environments.
• Knowledge of hazardous materials, hospital, or construction inspections.
