Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to perform and oversee a wide range of building upkeep tasks across our hospital facilities in Miami-Dade. Responsibilities include installing and repairing ceilings, tiles, walls, floors, millwork, and door hardware, as well as minor plumbing and electrical work.

The role requires at least 2 years of maintenance experience, a valid Florida driver license, and knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA).

Qualifications

• Requires 2+ years of maintenance mechanic experience including basic electrical and mechanical work.
• Possession of a valid Florida Driver License with no more than 4 points preferred.
• If working with hazardous substances, HAZWOPER certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Knowledge of safety tools and regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA) as well as hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Installs and repairs ceiling grid, ceiling tile, ceramic tile, vinyl floor tile and wall finishes.
• Repairs doors, millwork, handrails, and hardware; minor plumbing and electrical tasks.
• Maintains and inspects fire hoses and extinguishers; supports Life Safety inspections.
• Performs general maintenance tasks and assists in drills and codes as required.
• Estimates and orders materials for maintenance tasks across the medical center.
