Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or trade/vocational diploma or equivalent hospital training.
• Experience in building maintenance and construction in health care.
• Experience operating Computerized Building Management Systems.
• Course in HVAC, plumbing, machine shop; HVAC systems experience.
• Certificate of Fitness from FDNY within 90 days.
• G-71 (Supervision of non-flammable piped medical gases) is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect major utilities systems (heating, hot water, electrical, medical gas, plumbing) and document results; report and troubleshoot abnormalities.
• Operate HVAC systems through BMS and adjust temperature, chillers, and boilers.
• Respond to fire system alarms and reset to normal from control panel.
• Repair hospital beds, stretchers, fixtures, doors, locks, and movable equipment.
• Perform coil cleaning and filter replacement; assist with renovations and general maintenance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, structural, or plumbing problems around the plant.
• Inspect and repair air conditioners and heating system sections.
