Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) seeks a skilled maintenance technician to ensure continuous operation of hospital utilities and complex mechanical systems, with minimal supervision.

You will install, troubleshoot and repair equipment, read blueprints, follow safety rules, and stay current with NFPA Life Safety, ADA, and healthcare codes.

This role requires at least four years of related experience and a high school diploma; trade school credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of trade school or apprenticeship preferred.
• Four years of related work experience.
• Certified or licensed in plumbing, pipefitting, welding or boilers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuity of service for hospital utilities (heating, cooling, steam, gas, water treatment, emergency back up systems).
• Install, troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical equipment and distribution systems.
• Observe and enforce safety regulations and practices and maintain safety and fire equipment.
