Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a General Service Technician - Mechanic to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install hospital building systems and mechanical equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance on pumps, motors, generators, air compressors, and associated infrastructure, using diagnostic tools and reading schematics.

You should have CMMS experience, knowledge of safety regulations, and the ability to work independently and in teams to minimize downtime and

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or GED) required; trade/apprenticeship preferred.
• Technical or vocational training in mechanics preferred.
• Minimum three years in construction, commercial, industrial, or facilities operations.

Responsibilities

• Repair door hardware, locks, hinges, and closers
• Adjust plumbing fixtures and faucets
• Clear minor drain clogs
• Replace belts, filters, lubrication of equipment
• Inspect mechanical rooms and equipment
• Repair and replace thermostats and sensors
• Unclog sinks and floor drains
