Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our Plant Engineering team in Miami Beach, FL. You will perform installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance across ceilings, floors, walls, and fixtures in a 12-facility system.

The role requires a valid Florida driver's license, 6+ years in building maintenance, and adherence to Life Safety standards and hospital policies. On-site duties include collaboration with other trades and timely completion of tasks.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida driver license; up to 4 points preferred (Hazardous substances handling requires HAZWOPER within 90 days)
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• HAZWOPER certification required if working with hazardous substances (must be obtained within 90 days)
• 6+ years of experience in construction or building maintenance

Responsibilities

• Installs and repairs ceiling grid and ceiling tile, ceramic tile, vinyl floor tile, and floor sheet vinyl.
• Repairs walls, ceilings, cove base, carpet, door hardware, and millwork as needed.
• Maintains and inspects fire hoses and extinguishers; keeps Life Safety systems in good condition.
• Reads blueprints/schematics and follows safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA).
• Coordinates activities with other trades and leads maintenance projects to completion.
