Job summary

Intermountain Health is hiring a full-time Environmental Services worker at Primary Children's Hospital Taylorsville Campus in Salt Lake City, UT. The role involves cleaning and sanitizing patient areas to meet Joint Commission standards and supporting a clean, safe hospital environment.

The position requires physical stamina, reliability, and the ability to work a Tuesday–Saturday shift (2:30pm–11:00pm) with holiday rotations. Prior hospital cleaning experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior hospital or healthcare cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to different units.
• Demonstrates exceptional communication, multitasking, and initiative.
• Reliable, punctual, adaptable with strong attention to detail.
• Physically capable of standing/walking 8 hours, bending and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect assigned areas following procedures.
• Use cleaning chemicals per Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Dispose of infectious waste and trash correctly.
• Handle emergency spills per guidelines and safety standards.
• Follow infection prevention practices including PPE protocols.
• Maintain safe storage and work areas according to policy.
