Job summary

University Health Truman Medical Center is seeking an Environmental Services Worker to join the Environmental Services team. This part-time, PRN role supports keeping patient areas clean, safe, and sanitary in a busy hospital environment.

You will perform cleaning, equipment moves, and sanitation tasks, working 4 hours per week with varied shifts. Training will include competency assessments within 30–60 days, and English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Speak and read English and communicate effectively with staff, patients, and visitors.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Know how to operate cleaning and floor care equipment safely and effectively.
• Be ready to complete a competency assessment after training within 30–60 days.
• Follow written and verbal instructions and maintain high cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service hospital areas from patient rooms to common spaces following procedures.
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed to set up spaces.
• Maintain safety and sanitation by following infection control standards.
• Operate electric and battery powered floor care equipment to keep floors spotless.
• Read chemical labels and follow first aid instructions for safe usage.
