Job summary

Baptist Health in Lexington, KY is seeking an EVS Technician I to join the Environmental Services team. The role focuses on cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining patient rooms, offices, and common areas to support patient safety and a welcoming environment.

As part of a full-time schedule, you will follow infection prevention and PPE protocols, assist with room turnover, and help train new team members while contributing to quality care and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required, though related experience is preferred.
• 1–2 years of customer service, hospitality, or environmental services preferred.
• Ability to follow infection prevention and PPE protocols.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and maintain patient rooms, common areas, and equipment.
• Perform occupied, discharge, and transfer room cleaning.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and PPE protocols while handling waste and hazardous materials.
• Maintain cleaning equipment, carts, and supplies according to department standards.
• Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Assist with training and mentoring new EVS team members as assigned.
• Complete required documentation accurately and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Attend department meetings, huddles, and team activities to support patient experience and operational excellence.
• Perform specialty cleaning and other Environmental Services duties as assigned.
