Job summary

Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg, KS is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper - EVS Tech to maintain clean, safe patient areas and facilities in a full-time role.

The position involves cleaning patient rooms, offices, and common areas, operating floor care equipment, and following isolation procedures to prevent infections. Experience is preferred; high school or equivalent is recommended; on-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience: Relevant previous experience is preferred but on-the-job training provided
• Education: High School or equivalent preferred
• Req. Cert./Registration: None required

Responsibilities

• Dusts furniture, woodwork, equipment, and dust mops floors.
• Polishes and cleans fixtures in utility rooms and bathrooms.
• Operates mechanical floor cleaners, polishers, and vacuums.
• Wet mops rooms, halls, stairways, and public areas.
• Shampoos rugs and furniture.
• Cleans vents, fans and other equipment using vacuum machines or appropriate tools.
• Cleans fixtures, tops or windows, door frames, and high areas using a ladder.
• Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials.
• Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required.
• Buffs, strips, waxes and polishes floors.
• Assists with setup during special events (set up chairs and tables, etc.)
• Assists with tear down after special events (folds chairs, stores tables appropriately)
• Assists in hanging drapes and dividers and takes them down for cleaning.
• Removes waste and soiled linens from work area and places in specified bags or containers.
• Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares room for new occupant Follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms.
• Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls of bathrooms.
• Participates in educational programs and in service meetings.
• Attends meetings as required.
