Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside and West invite applications for an Associate Hospital Epidemiologist and Infectious Diseases Physician. The role supports infection prevention, epidemiology, and inpatient ID consults for two campuses in Manhattan, NY.

Faculty appointment offers patient care, education, research, and quality improvement in a collaborative health system. The candidate should be MD or equivalent, board-certified in Infectious Diseases, and eligible for NY licensure, with at least 3 years

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Board Certified in Infectious Diseases.
• Eligible for or licensed to practice medicine in New York.
• Experience in adult Infectious Diseases; infection prevention and/or antimicrobial stewardship preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of academic teaching experience (residency/fellowship level).

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient Infectious Diseases consultative care and teach learners (approx. 50% clinical).
• Partner with Hospital Epidemiologist to develop and evaluate infection prevention programs.
• Lead surveillance, outbreak investigations, and regulatory compliance.
• Advise leadership on infection prevention, patient safety, and emergency preparedness.
• Support research and quality improvement initiatives and regional collaborations.
