Job summary

Eskenazi Health, the public hospital division of Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County, invites applications for an Environmental Services Worker I. Work involves daily intensive cleaning to prevent infections, reporting status updates to the supervisor, and maintaining high cleaning standards.

The role requires reading and following written instructions in English, basic customer service experience, and the ability to lift and use cleaning equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• One year of Environmental Services, janitorial, or customer service experience may be accepted in lieu of high school diploma (grandfathered internal).
• Must be able to read, write, speak, understand and execute written instructions in English.
• Customer service, hospitality, and/or healthcare related experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedule, using 7-Step Cleaning Procedure.
• Empties and cleans waste receptacles; removes trash and relines baskets.
• Removes soiled linen and delivers to soiled linen chute/room.
• Dusts high surfaces; cleans and disinfects surfaces and fixtures as specified.
• Mops/drys floors; polishes kick-plates; cleans restrooms and mirrors.
• Vacuums carpets; spot cleans walls, cabinets, windows and door frames.
