Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking an Environmental Services I to maintain a clean, sanitary hospital environment. The role involves cleaning all areas, moving supplies, and responding to codes as needed.

Schedule is 40 hours per week, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with every other weekend and holiday work. Education: HS diploma or GED preferred; some related experience is welcome and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Some work-related experience preferred but willing to train.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and services all areas of the facility according to procedures.
• Moves furniture, equipment and supplies as needed throughout hospital departments.
• Responds to fire or disaster codes as instructed by supervisor or manager.
• Operates cleaning equipment and prepares chemicals per procedure.
• Cleans isolation rooms and operating suites with prescribed solutions, and arranges furniture after cleaning.
• May deliver laundry carts to patient areas.
