Job summary

UPMC is seeking a dedicated housekeeping professional to clean patient rooms, public areas, and equipment across hospital facilities, following established procedures and safety regulations.

Responsibilities include bed making, inventory replenishment, and reporting maintenance issues to supervisors; prior housekeeping and strong customer service experience are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Housekeeping experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make beds following established cleaning procedures in patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
• Inspect and ensure assigned areas are cleaned and in good repair; report problems to the supervisor.
• Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations to assure adequate supply.
• Clean all assigned areas including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices and equipment.
• Maintain equipment in clean, working condition and report problems to the supervisor.
• Remove trash from all assigned areas.
• Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.
• Move equipment, furniture, boxes, wash walls, spot carpets as assigned.
• Follow written and verbal instructions to complete duties.
• Use housekeeping equipment.
• May be in rooms where medications are stored; no contact with medications allowed.
