Job summary

Allina Health is seeking an Environmental Services Aide at New Ulm Medical Center to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and staff. The role includes cleaning patient rooms, operating rooms, exam areas, and public spaces, along with handling linen and waste per hospital standards.

The position is 1.0 FTE with an 8-hour day/evening shift and every third weekend rotation, requiring 18 years of age with basic education or experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description or 6 months similar work experience
• 0 to 2 years of environmental services experience or high school diploma/GED

Responsibilities

• Cleans, sanitizes and disinfects all areas of health care facility.
• Maintains cleanliness of patient rooms, operating rooms, exam rooms, treatment rooms, care centers and public areas.
• Cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, emptying trash, changing bed linen, vacuuming, operating auto scrub machine to clean floors and others.
• Potential and actual safety hazards are identified and reported.
• Reports building items, furnishings, and equipment in need of repair or replacement.
• Collects and transports solid and infectious waste within the health care facility.
