Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services staff member to perform housekeeping duties in patient care areas. The role focuses on maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary environment while reporting maintenance needs and adhering to infection control practices.

Qualifications

• CHEST Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean and dust-free environment to support infection control.
• Cleans assigned and specialized areas per schedule and procedures.
• Removes waste and soiled linens in proper containers.
• Uses and stores chemicals per manufacturer instructions and department procedures.
• Follows universal precautions and uses PPE as needed.
• Reports safety hazards promptly.
• Assists in cleaning emergency spills.
• Performs terminal cleaning of patient rooms and prepares rooms for new patients.
