Job summary

Harborview Medical Center Environmental Services is seeking a Manager of Environmental Services to lead day-to-day EVS operations across one of Harborview's largest departments, focusing on cleaning, disinfection, waste management, linen services, pest management, and room setup.

The role supports ORs, ICUs, patient care floors and the ED, driving efficient processes and best practices while collaborating with hospital leaders, staff, and vendors to maintain service quality.

Qualifications

• Three to four years of management experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Equivalent education and experience may substitute for required qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day EVS operations to ensure the operational needs of the hospital are met
• Oversee cleaning and disinfection, waste management, linen services, integrated pest management, and room setup
• Ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and environmental services standards and regulations
• Partner with hospital leaders to coordinate EVS activities, schedules, priorities, and service expectations
• Assist the Director with operational plans, budgets, policies, procedures, and department strategies
• Manage staffing, including interviewing, hiring, training, performance management, and corrective action
• Plan, assign, and oversee the work of supervisors and other direct reports
• Monitor department performance and implement best practices to improve quality, safety, efficiency, and patient care
